the hotel had some minor issues, like the lack of breakfast options for vegans—i mean, half a fruit and a drink? really? also, i couldn't believe my eyes when there was no special treatment for me, no complimentary welcome gift or room upgrade. i almost gave this place a good review, but just couldn’t, it was absurd.

The vibe at Lamp Light Books Hotel Fukuoka was cozy and inviting, especially the lobby cafe that served delicious coffee and croissants. The room, while small, was smartly designed with thoughtful shelving for my belongings and a spacious bathroom that felt luxurious. I appreciated the excellent water pressure in the shower. The staff genuinely made my trip better. They went out of their way to help me with luggage and local tips. The only downside was the distant location from the train station and the checkout time at 10 AM, which felt rushed. Maneuvering with my suitcase was tricky due to crowded sidewalks and limited space in the room.

cozy lobby cafe, charming bookshop ambiance, interesting neighborhood
The rooms are tiny, even for Japan!!! The checkout at 10 AM feels rushed, an 11 AM option should be standard. It's also quite noisy at night from the street – not ideal for a good night's sleep!!!
